The exceptional structural, morphological, mechanical and chemical properties of few layer graphene (FLG) flakes are extremely appealing for highly demanding tribological applications, requiring low wear and low friction regimes coupled with endurance under extreme loading conditions.
BeDimensional developed a base oil booster based on FLG with on-demand morphological properties produced by a proprietary methodology. The booster is compatible with different base oils for the formulation of both lubricants and greases. The FLG layered nature provides excellent lubrication, particularly in aged oil under high stress. These tribological results were certified in an extensive engine test, achieving outstanding fuel economy performance.
